GeoShack is looking to hire a Survey Technical Support Specialist to be based in Baton Rouge, LA.  The Survey Technical Support Specialist will provide phone and field support of GPS, Survey and Machine Control systems.  The ideal candidate will have an understanding of working with GPS and machine control systems, or experience in the survey industry using positioning technology and software. This position will require some work outdoors and some overnight travel.


  • Work with cutting edge GPS, survey and construction laser technology.
  • Deliver high-quality solutions through phone and field support and training. 
  • Provide technical evaluations and support for installed product base to support service activities.
  • Provide technical support for sales efforts in setting up demonstrations, etc. 
  • Train our customers on the use of our products in a variety of settings.
  • Represent GeoShack as the total solution for our customers. 


  • Hands on experience in the use of GPS hardware, data collection software, or machine control equipment is preferred
  • 3 – 5 years in the Survey or Technical Support field
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain calm efficiency
  • Excellent organization, prioritization, and time-management skills
  • Must have a clean driving record
